Hudson and Co.

Those of you who follow my blog closely (aka my mom) might recognize this family. I had an impromptu shoot with them this spring just after Hudson was born. I got a chance to photograph them again last week when Yalena decided she wanted some pictures on our snow day.

My favorite shot of the day:

Then again, this one is pretty darn cute. I <3>

Thanks for letting me photograph your family!

Barbee Family

I'm going to let the pictures do the talking on this post. They are too cute, words would just get in the way. :)

This is my favorite photo. How can you not smile after seeing this?

Kellen is a miracle baby. He came late February, but wasn't expected until the first of April.

Aren't they an adorable family?

We were trying to re-create one of Braden's baby photos. We did get a re-created shot, but this one makes me smile.

Reagan

The other day I was browsing Twitter and read a tweet that said “If you get too busy, you’ll drop relationships because relationships are never efficient. They can’t be.” It made me think about how easily I let my friendships evaporate like a puddle on a steamy summer day. It seems like one day they are there and thriving, then the next thing I know it feels awkward for me to call the person to hang out. Luckily, most friendships go into the water cycle and turn into clouds, which then rain down to turn into a puddles again. (Okay, maybe I’m taking the puddle analogy too far.)

Yesterday I spent the morning/afternoon (what would you call the time from 11 o’clock to 2?) with my friend Danielle and her two babies, Eion (the Irish spelling of Owen) and Reagan. It had been far too long since I’d seen or talked to Dani, because as I stated earlier, I let my friendships evaporate. But we were able to catch up with each other today. Not only did we get to chat and have fun, I also captured some incredible images of her kids. After months of trying to conceive, God has blessed Dani with 2 babies in 2 years. Her house is a busy one full of love, laughter and hints of Ireland - did I mention that her husband, Anthony, is Irish? I could listen to him talk all day. :)

Little Miss Reagan was the main focus today. She is officially 1 month and 9 days old. She still has the new baby smell and the cashmere baby skin. I could hold her all day, while listening to Anthony talk.....we’ll plan a day of that, okay, Dani?

This is my favorite shot of the day. Eoin has plans to toughen Reagan up once Mom turns her back. :)

Thanks for letting me get a glimpse of your life!

Family

At the beginning of April my friend Yalena had Hudson. We've been meaning to get pictures of him and finally got around to doing it last Sunday after church. It was kind of a last minute photo shoot at my house, but I love the images we got.

Elijah

Elijah is 4. This is not his first appearance on the blog, and I doubt it will be his last. We had a lot of fun wandering the park and capturing some images. There was a miracle moment during our photo shoot. I was able to get him into a tree and stay there by himself. The pics didn’t come out quite like I imagined since you could kind of see the fear in his eyes, but none the less, he climbed a tree which is quite the accomplishment.

Peace Out!

Baby Mylie

Last night I took dinner to my friend Beth, who just had her baby. After dinner, I decided I needed some new pics of the gorgeous girl, so I brought in my camera and we had an impromptu photography session in Mylie's nursery. I am thrilled with the results! You should check out my facebook page if you want to see a slideshow of the images.

Big brother Elijah got in on the action. I am always kissing on his feet because they are so darn cute, so this is one of my favorites of the night.

If you want to see pics of her when she was just an hour or two old, you can head over to my personal blog. :) Welcome to the world, Mylie Elizabeth!

The Motley Family

Last Sunday I got to photograph my friend Anya's family. Not only do they have a really cool last name, they are also a ton of fun! They were so good to let me drag them around Union Station trying different stuff. The boys didn't even get too upset with me for mixing up all their names. :)

Here is my beautiful friend, Anya.

I think this is my favorite shot of the day, but it was really hard to pick a favorite!

Happy Birthday, Heidi!

Last weekend was a busy photography weekend for me. I had 3 shoots, one of them a birthday party for my friend's mom. The party was a surprise, which was pulled off flawlessly. I was incredibly impressed. My friend Alasdair joined me as my second shooter. We had so much fun photographing the event, and got to eat a delicious dinner of Jack Stack, too. Here are a few of my favorite shots.....

This little guy had the coolest hair I've ever seen on a toddler.

Nicole did such a good job with the decorations and she even put together these chocolate bars for the guests. Oh, and I have to give Alasdair photo credits for this one....notice the nice, shallow depth of field. ;)

Justice is the Birthday Girl's grandson and the decoy for the surprise. He turned one the day after the party, so Happy Birthday to him, too!

And, the most important shot of the night, Heidi's look of surprise.

Natalie & Sydney

I went to a local park to photograph these precious girls. We had a lot of fun playing on the swings and splashing in the creek. I liked the photos so much they inspired me to finally start my photography blog :) The girls were so photogenic it was difficult to choose my favorite pics for this!

A little bit of sister love!

These girls have the eyes of angels!!!
